How to safely exfoliate your skin naturally Exfoliation is the natural process of peeling and shedding of the dead skin cells. Although it occurs naturally to some extent we need to do it more often as we age and also due to the problems like pollution and other environmental factors which interfere with the natural process. However you should be careful not to overdo the process because it will remove the protective barrier of the skin. This in turn will lead to damage to the skin due to pollution and UV rays of the sun. It is a good idea to exfoliate the skin in a fortnight or even a month. This will help remove the dead cells and allow the fresh new skin to show up. At the same time exfoliate your skin on the whole body and not just the face. Let us look at some exfoliating agents which are always present in your kitchen and are complete natural

Yogurt

Yogurt has lactic acid along with the same acid ? alpha hydroxy ? found in the more expensive skin treatments in the salons. The best part is that in yogurt it is milder and hence will not cause any side effects on the skin. This is the reason that yogurt removes the dead skin cells and smoothens, soothes and makes the skin tone even. Apply plain yogurt to the whole body or face and leave it on for 20 minutes before rinsing. This is the best body scrub which will not only exfoliate the skin but also nourish it.

Sugar

Cane sugar is a natural source of glycolic acid which is also an alpha hydroxy acid which boosts the production of skin cells and smoothes and softens the skin. Take half a cup of sugar with sufficient olive oil or grape seed oil which makes a paste and apply to the body or face in circular motions. Allow it to sit on the skin for 10 minutes and wash with warm water. This is not just a face exfoliator but is good for the skin on the whole body.

Honey

Honey does not just have the effect of speeding up the process of exfoliation but also has the qualities of a humectant which will attract moisture and this makes it an excellent scrub for the face or the body. Take a dollop of honey on your hand and apply in circular motions on the skin then wash with warm water. This will enhance the glow of your skin and make it smooth and youthful.

Lemon juice

Lemon juice also contains alpha hydroxy acid which removes the dead skin cells. Take a cup each of lemon juice, apple juice, grape juice and cane sugar and stir till the sugar dissolves. Apply the mixture on the face and body with cotton pads and allow it to sit for 10 minutes and then wash it off with warm water. If you exfoliate skin regularly then it will be more receptive to the body cosmetics like moisturizer, nourishing lotions and creams. Of course you can also use some natural agents like milk almond oil etc. to nourish the skin and if the skin is regularly exfoliated then it will absorb the nutrients from these easily. However, you should also nourish the skin from within by taking useful supplements like Chicnutrix Super CGlow which contains vitamin C and glutathione which are antioxidants and keep the skin looking young, glowing, radiantand supple.
